The iMPAQ underwater switch is a robust, half-moon-shaped, three-way magnetic switch designed for subsea and harsh environments. It can be mounted externally through non-ferrous materials up to 25mm thick (e.g., stainless steel, aluminium, glass, wood) without drilling through pressure vessels, preserving structural integrity in extreme conditions.
Key Features:
- Non-Intrusive Installation: Fits outside a bulkhead/endcap with no hole required, secured with screws or adhesive.
- Magnetic Activation: Three switch positions, each triggering a separate relay via Hall sensors, with relay handover between positions (e.g., ON/OFF/ON).
- Relay Capability: Switches up to 240V AC at 5A (TE Connectivity PE014005 relays).
- Construction: External parts are 3D-printed PETG (yellow body, red lever) with marine-grade aluminium as an option.
- Internal Components: Two conformal-coated PCBs (potting optional) powered by 6–24V DC, with pre-supplied leads and connectors.
- Dimensions: External – 100mm x 62mm x 25mm; Internal – 98mm x 49mm x 24mm.
Customisation & Options:
- Marine-grade anodised aluminium body and lever.
- Oil-filled/compensated switch versions.
- Thicker material compatibility (up to 50mm).
- Potted electronics for enhanced protection.
