replace the current hydraulic tools and powerpacks that have been in use by sub-sea divers for many years.
The FlexPaq system is designed to replace the current hydraulic tools and powerpacks that have been in use by sub-sea divers for many years. To reduce the pollution of our oceans by the release of hydraulic and other oil-based fluids many companies are switching from hydraulic to electric systems for their underwater equipment, and the FlexPaq system provides and cleaner and more diver-friendly alternative to the traditional hydraulic power supply to those tools.
In the battery model it is completely self-contained, with the battery situated within the pod running the tools as well as auxiliary power for lights etc. This can be recharged using available AC power through a
waterproof plug built into the pod when the unit is out of the water. In the externally powered version, a cable from an ROV, ship or from the shore (for harbour/inshore use) connects to the pod and an internal transformer converts it from the AC input (110vAC up to 3 phase 3,000vAC supply) to the DC voltage required for the motor, its control systems and the auxiliary output.
